Summer Becomes Fall
As August turns to September, followed by October, not just the weather is changing but also the hours of daylight. The activity of critters and all plants (well, if you don’t live too far south) has increased. The flows of water running down hill is another sign of THE change!
The “dog days of summer”, with a lower energy level than June/July, blend into the energy of preparations for winter. Fall color in plants is a beautiful visual sign of the change-no need to “wander” far to ENJOY, although running water with a seat, book and dog highlight this season-hopefully somewhat near by. This is a great use of visual and auditory organs. LOOK AND LISTEN!
Life in fall gets so busy:
- Back to school (for some)
- Our changing of wardrobes
- Holiday Season planning and prep
- Some folks get excited by football
- Halloween ROCKS
- Dreaming of a mid-winter adventure (escape?)
- If so inclined, the performing arts seasons take off
 Kitchen Time
Fall is a great time to rediscover your kitchen-soups, bread and pies–YUM! Many people prefer restaurant food, but Papa Terry will say that JOY is created with a nice week-end spent shopping, cooking and baking , then eating. What a loving way to share with friends and family-great food should not include drama, just relax and let ENJOYMENT happen.Children and grandbabies might benefit from being exposed to the magic of flour, yeast (maybe), sugar, chocolate (optional) and fat when heat is applied.
Kitchen time is also a marvelous opportunity to ENJOY your favorite music!
Seasonal Thoughts
A quick reminder, winter driving requires a vehicle change over from summer (unless you, again, live down south).
Gardens get put to bed for several months.
Warm clothes and chilly mornings with a camera-now that’s for me-some consider this crazy talk, but it is my ENJOYMENT.
Whatever brings a warmth into your being this is a great season to let it sweep over you and give a peaceful sense for THE change.
Please ENJOY!
